1. How to Delete Your Account from the App

You can delete your GrovaSense account directly from the mobile app by following these steps:

  1. Open the GrovaSense app and sign in to your account.
  2. Navigate to the Profile tab.
  3. In the Account section, tap Delete account.
  4. Review the information about what data will be deleted.
  5. Tap Delete Account to confirm.

Your account will be deleted immediately and you will be signed out of the app.

2. Alternative: Request Deletion by Email

If you are unable to delete your account through the app, you can request account deletion by emailing us at [email protected]. Please include the email address associated with your GrovaSense account. We will process your request within 7 business days.

3. Data That Is Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

  • User profile — your name, email, and profile photo
  • Firebase authentication account — your login credentials
  • Push notification tokens — FCM registration tokens
  • Device associations — links between your account and any paired devices
  • Chat history — plant assistant conversation sessions
  • API keys — any API keys associated with your account

4. Data That Is Retained

To maintain the quality of our service, the following data is retained in anonymized form after account deletion:

  • Sensor telemetry data — historical readings from devices (temperature, humidity, soil moisture, etc.) are retained without user identification for service improvement and machine learning model training.

This anonymized data cannot be used to identify you after your account is deleted.

5. Processing Timeline

Account deletion via the app is processed immediately. If you request deletion by email, your account will be deleted within 7 business days of receiving your request. You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete.
